Trick-or-Treating?
Halloween and fall is one of the best times of the year for hamsters! There are many foods most hamsters love (like squash, apples, and pumpkin). Also, Halloween is usually celebrated at night when hamsters are awake.
One fun way to celebrate Halloween with your hamster is to decorate your cage in a fall or spooky theme. (We have a contest for that! To participate, just look on our page called “Holiday Events”.) Another way to celebrate is to hide a few fall treats around their cage. Some treats include fruits, veggies, sunflower heads, worms, and sprays. Remember, most fruits are very high in sugar, so don’t overfeed your hamster. 1-3 treats is the limit for Halloween.
Treats shouldn’t ever substitute a meal! Make sure your hamster has their proper nutrition. Also, follow a vet’s advice if your hamster has allergies or disease. We are not responsible for your hamster being injured if a vet’s advice is ignored. Thanks for understanding!
Have a happy Halloween!
